Paris - Day 1
After what turned out to be a fairly easy drive we arrived at our campsite. Once here we all had a small nap and then went for a walk to the local supermarket to get some supplies for dinner and our next few days. It began to rain while. We were out so Jake and I struggled in the pouring rain putting up the awning so we would have somewhere to put our wet clothes to dry. And as you might have guessed it stopped raining as soon as we finished. After a lovely meal cooked by the girls we decided to hit the hay for an early ready for a busy day exploring Paris.
Road to Paris
So we made it into France!
Got to Dover at 1am boarded the first ferry at 2am... We realised while in the line to board the ferry that it went to Dunkerque NOT Calais. Never the less we entered France at 5am. We headed to the first side street and we all crawled into bed for a few hours sleep before we continued on to Paris. I think none of us got any sleep for the first hour as we were all waiting for a local French farmer to come knocking. And when an ambulance came screaming past we all thought we were going to get thrown I'm some dodgy French prison. After 3-4 hours kip we jumped up and made our way to Paris.

And we are off!
Only 4 hours later than we wanted to leave but that is what happens when you need to paint a wall at the last minute! I'll explain later. Right now we are heading to Dover to catch the ferry into France and we'll see how far we get before we need a nap. Should hopefully be in Paris by lunchtime tomorrow. Fingers crossed all goes well.
