Pompeii, Italy

We got back to Pompeii around 5ish which gaves us about 2 hours to explore the grounds of the ancient city of Pompeii. We had not anticipated the sheer size of the ruins and we quickly realised that we would struggle to see everything in the short amount of time we had left before it closed. We had to rush slightly but managed to see nearly everything. It would have been nice to have more time there and i would say to anyone that plans on going to allow atleast 5 hours for Pompeii, and get there earlier to do Vesuvius first, the ruins after lunch.
The amount of little things that were so close to being in perfect condition was overwhelming. Artworks on walls, mosaics, buildings, statues, streets and so many more artifacts that had been recovered. The most breathtaking thing was the plaster cast made of one of the pour unsuspecting victims of 79 AD, on their knees, praying....very cool and awful at the same time.

After a very action packed day we headed back to the campsite and enjoyed another delicious meal at the campsite restaurant....mmmmm pizza.
