The original plan for today was to head out to Capri for the day. But after the previous day costing us so much and a boat trip to Capri cost about another €35 per person we decided to just have a nice quiet day in Sorrento. We explored the town for a while, had lunch, found the beach and even was able to have a beer and watch some of the cricket!
We then headed back to camp for another delightful meal in the campsite restaurant....you guessed it, another pizza! yum!
After dinner we did some research on what ferries, trains, bus etc we needed to catch to get to Greece and then to the Greek Islands. The ferry that we had planned to catch from Bari to Patras did not run on a Sunday....and it needed to run on Sunday! We came up with every alternative possible to get there so as to stick to the plan but it just wasn’t to be. The only real option that we cam up with that would have worked was to fly (probably would have been best but at the time it was just to much). We decided that we would have to put everything back a day which really only meant that we wouldn’t stay in Pireus (Athens Port) 1 night and would go straight out to Naxos. We were staying in Sorrento 1 more night.
